EndMankatha’s trailer will hit the theatres this Friday. According to Praveen editor of Mankatha, the trailer will be screened during the interval of Azhagar Saamiyin Kudirai. Mankatha trailer, sources say, has come out exceptionally well and the fans are also eager to catch a glimpse of it ever since the song trailer was released on May 1st 2011.

Yuvan Shankar Raja’s much awaited tracks of Ajith 50th film Mankatha are likely to be released by May end. Director Venkat Prabhu is already planning to release a single track album ‘Vilayaadu Mankatha’ next week.

Sony BMG has recently bagged the audio rights of Mankatha for a record price. This multi starrer has Trisha, Arjun, Andrea, Lakshmi Rai, Vaibhav, Premji, Mahanth and Ashwin in prominent roles. The film is expected to grace theatres in June.

This week turns out to be double special for the Mankatha team, as a single track is also due to be released. STR’s Vaanam also had a single track released before the audio launch and this turned out to be a huge success. Likewise, Mankatha’s single release is also expected to bring in the maximum publicity.

The heroes in Kollywood are very fast in terms of their career as one after the other are signing the films even before the present project gets wrapped up. It was Suriya who has accepted to do a film with director Hari. Now latest we hear is that Thala Ajith who is busy with his current project Mankatha got attracted to Jayam Raja’s script and will be joining hands with him for this project.

It was earlier revealed that director Venkat Prabhu will be doing a project with Vijay and Ajith but there is no buzz on this front. So in the mean time Jayam Raja decided to cast Ajith in his next film after Velayudham. As of now Ajith is busy with Mankatha and after this he will be moving to Billa 2 directed by Chakri Toleti. Gossip is that Thala will be starting his project with Jayam Raja once he completes his prior projects.

'Mankatha' Game In Mumbai

If our ‘Madurai’ is considered ‘Thoonga Nagaram’ of Tamil Nadu, ‘Mumbai’ is ennobled for the same term across the continent of Asia. So says Venkat Prabhu, who has now started working on his scheduled in ‘Mankatha’. Right now, the team is shooting during night times in Mumbai so as to avoid the crowd thronging at the shooting spots.

But then Venkat Prabhu mentions that Mumbai is very busy in nights than day. The entire team has successfully completed on the first day schedule wrapping up by early morning.

‘Mankatha’ will have the audio launch function held in grandeur at Chennai.

Ajith Next Product Billa 2

The shooting of Billa part 2, which is to be based on director Vishnuvardhan’s script, is to commence next year. In the meantime, the director is busy on designing the promo posters for this film.

Though Ajith is busy with Mangatha at the moment, he is sparing time to ensure that Billa Part 2 is more chic than the first part. The star is making all efforts to ensure that he has the right outfits that will surpass the ones in the first part, sources say. Billa – 2 will be produced by Suresh Balaji and George Pious of Wide Angle Creations. The female lead has not yet been finalized.

Now that Ajith and Gautham Vasudev Menon have parted ways  from doing a film together, it is said that the filmmaker would now make the movie with his favourite actor Suriya as the protagonist.

“Gautham likes to work with Suriya very much and he feels that the actor would suit to any kind of role. Hence his next choice for the project, which is a thriller, would obviously be Suriya”, say sources.

Tentatively titled ‘Thuppariyum Anand’, the film is set in pre-Independence era. “It is about a detective who zeroes in on culprits involved in sensitive cases in his own style”, sources in the know maintain.

One more interesting buzz about the project is that Gautham Menon has signed British Model Amy Jackson, who played the lead role in ‘Madrasapattinam’, for the heroine role. “His favourite cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa is busy doing research for the film”, sources add.

And the movie is also no less in reputation. Director Vasu had directed a Kannada movie 'Aaptharakshaka' which went on to become the biggest ever hit in Kannada cinema. 'Aaptharakshaka'was a sequel to 'Apthamithra' which was later remade in Tamil as Chandramukhi starring Super Star Rajnikanth.

P. Vasu was planning to remake the sequel film also in Tamil and looking for Rajnikanth to do it as well. Even the super star liked the movie after a special screening and news were abuzz saying Rajini has agreed to do the film. But it was some time ago and the Super Star got busy with Endhiran.

Now after a while the remake buzz is again afloat but with a twist. The news this time is that the Super Star has suggested Ajith to take up the film. Apparently Rajini has told Ajith that the film will fetch him a good name.

Ajith was expected to take up 'Billa-2'after 'Mangatha' but as things stand now he is likely to take up the P. Vasu film. We will keep you posted as and when things develop.

Changes in Ajith's 50th Film Again

Ajith has teamed up with maverick director Venkat Prabhu for his landmark 50th film Mangatha. This film had a formal puja on August 2nd, which incidentally marked the completion of Ajith’s 18 years in the film industry. Director Venkat Prabhu is upbeat about this project as he has twin responsibilities of satisfying his fans and Ajith’s audience too.

An interesting news about the film is it has undergone a slight name change in its English spelling. Earlier the film was spelled MANGATHA and from hence forth it will be called MANKATHA, the K replacing the G. When probed, Venkat Prabhu said that he had indeed changed the spelling of the film as per his numerologist’s advice. Here is wishing the team all the luck!

Nagarjuna in Ajith's 'Magantha’

Nagarjuna is signing films left and right in Telugu and as well as in Tamil. Nagarjuna acted in straight Tamil film , Rakshakan, a decade ago. Now the handsome 50-year-old actor is doing two Tamil films back to back. First he will be seen in Payanam, produced by Prakash Raj (Telugu version is titled as Gaganam). And then he will be doing a pivotal role in Tamil superstar Ajith’s 50th film to be directed by Venkat Prabhu of Saroja fame. Nagarjuna who is fond of Ajith said immediately yes to this guest role.

Ajithkumar’s 50th film Mangatha to be directed by Venkat Prabhu commenced on 2nd August with a somber pooja at A V M Rajeswari studios, Chennai. Coincidentally, Ajith entered filmdom on August 2nd eighteen years ago. This golden jubilee film of Ajith is being produced by Dhayanidhi Azhagiri for Cloud Nine films.

While talking about Mangatha, director Venkat Prabhu says, “I am glad to start Mangatha on this auspicious day wherein Ajith began his filmi journey 18 years back. We are shooting the trailer of the film which will be screened in theatres soon.” He went on to add that Mangatha will be a 2011 summer bonanza.

The heroine of the film is yet to be finalized. Telugu star Nagarjuna is playing an important role in Mangatha and along with Premji Amaran, there would be a newcomer by name Mahath. Major part of the film is slated to be canned in exotic overseas locales.

The event saw a dapper Ajith in a grey shirt flashing his trademark smile. The puja was attended by Vivek Rathnavel of Cloud Nine films, Gangai Amaran, S P B Charan, producer Siva, A V M Kumaran and A V M Saravanan along with the technical team of the film.
