Playback singer K.S Chithra’s only daughter nandana drowned in a swimming pool in dubai.Nandana 9 year old, the only daughter of K.S Chithra fell in a swimming pool in Emirates Hills,Dubai. Chitra along with her husband Vijaya Shankar and daughter Nandana has left to Dubai for participating in a musical extravaganza to celebrate the compositions of music director A.R.Rahman at Sharjah stadium today.

What actually happened KS Chitra and her troupe were in preparations to go out for rehearsals in the morning. They were staying at a villa in Emirates Hills, and saw that the front door was left open and Nandana was not found inside the house. By the time they went outside the villa and saw Nandana was lying in the swimming pool. She was rushed to a hospital in Jebel Ali, but she was already dead.Chitra and her husband Vijaya Shankar were blessed with Nandana after fifteen years of their marriage.

The nine-year-old daughter  of popular Indian playback singer K.S. Chithra died after falling in a swimming pool at a Dubai villa this morning.
Sources said Nandana, who drowned in a pool at a villa in Emirates Hills, was rushed to a hospital in Jebel Ali, but could not berevived.

Popularly known as ‘Little Nightingale’ of South India, Chithra has sung songs in films of more than 10 languages and has received six national awards among other laurels. Chithra and her husband Vijayashankar were blessed with their daughter after eight years of marriage.

The singer and her troupe are in Dubai to participate in a musical extravaganza to celebrate the compositions of Oscar winner music director A. R. Rahman at Sharjah Cricket Stadium today.

Maestro Ilayaraja has completed recording eight songs for veteran director Bapu’s magnum opus – mythological film titled Sri Ramarajyam starring Balakrishna in the lead role. Legendary singers S P Balasubramaniam and Chitra sung the songs while for the first time Shreya Ghoshal shared a song with Chitra for this flick. Jonnavittula and Vennelakanti wrote all the eight songs composed by the maestro. This is the second time that director Bapu and Ilayaraja coming together after their earlier musical hit - Mantrigaari Viyyankudu .

Sri Ramarajyam is all set to begin the shoot from November 22nd and Yalamanchali Saibabu is producing it. Mullapudi Venkata Ramana has provided the script based on Valmiki Ramayanam. The movie is to be made with high technical standards and national award winning technician Kamal Kannan who worked for Magadheera would be overseeing CG work.

This year’s ‘Chakulathu Amman’ award is given to Chitra for being the best playback singer. Among the Bhagavathi Amman temples in Kerala, the Chakulathu Bhagavathi Amman temple is very famous. During the festival that takes place here during the month of Karthigai, hundreds of devotees from many states including Tamilnadu, take part in the celebrations. This year too, the temple’s Trust awarded many eminent personalities in the various fields of arts.

For this year, KS Chitra got the award for best playback singer. Manikuttan Namboothiri of the Chakulathu Bhagavathi Amman Temple Trust presented Chitra with the Chakulathu Amman award.
