Dhanush, Tamannah new movie "Vengai" songs shooting progressed in Kuala Lumpur

Dhanush and Tamannah are in Kuala Lumpur to shoot a song sequence for Vengai. Word is that music director Devi Sri Prasad has done such a fantastic job that director Hari wants to make sure that the song sequences are a standout feature in his film. One romantic song has already been shot in beautiful Munnar and this song is going to be a foot-tapping, dream sequence with some superb dance moves put together by ace choreographer, Brinda.

The entire unit has fallen in love with the tunes composed by DSP and they are all confident that they are going to be the rage across Tamil Nadu. Dhanush will complete the shoot in KL and is expected to be back in India for the release of his much-awaited Mappillai with Hansika Motwani. Dhanush-Andrea in Selvaraghavan's Erandam Ulagam

Selvaraghavan as per his commitment to UTV has to complete his Dhanush-Andrea starrer Erandam Ulagam, before he can start shoot with Kamal for Viswaroopam.

Selva, the professional that he is will start the last and final schedule of the film from April 11 in Chennai. During this 40 day shoot, he has to do the remaining four songs and talkie portion of the film.

Yuvan Shankar Raja is to provide music for the film, which is yet to be recorded. Ramji is the cinematographer. If Selva completes the shoot and finishes post production work of 'this intense love story'

UTV will release Erandam Ulagam by June end.

Clash between Dhanush and Simbhu once again

It is almost confirmed that one time bitter foes now good friends Dhanush and Simbu will clash once again. Yes, two of their eagerly awaited films Mappillai and Vaanam respectively are scheduled to release on April 8, 2011! As per our trade sources, Sun Pictures have told their regular set of theatres and distributors to take Mappillai booking from April 8.

Meanwhile Ganesh the producer of Vaanam feels that April 8 is one of summer 2011′s best dates to release a film. The world cup finals would be over on April 2 and the IPl would just have started and interest on cricket will be low after the world cup. The Tamil Nadu 2011 assembly elections though dates are yet to be announced are likely to be in the last week of April.

Seedan Movie Got Clear "U" Certificate

Mith Productions Seedan, directed by Subramaniyam Shiva has been cleared by the censors with a clean `U` certificate.  It is the first film in recent times to be passed by the censors without any visual cuts or muting. Seedan is an adaptation of the 2002 writer and director Renjith`s Malayalam super hit film Nandanam. The highlight of the film is Dhanush`s 40-minute special appearance in a crucial role.

Debutant Krishna and Nadodigal fame Ananya are in the romantic lead. The others in the cast are Vivek, Suhasini, Meera Krishnan, Sheela, Ponvannan and Ilavarasu. The film has music by Dheena, camera by Srinivas Devamsam, a former assistant of PC Sreeram. Subramaniyam Shiva is said to have made a nice family entertainer, with essential ingredients. Seedan is now slated for a big release in Tamil Nadu on 25th February.

Dhanush has one more reason to be happy because his last release Uthama Puthiran has successfully completed 50 days at the Box Office. Taking this opportunity, the actor thanked to his fans for liking his film and making it a consecutive fifth successful film for him. We wish Dhanush a wonderful and successful New Year ahead.

Tapasee Pannu revealed that she was very afraid when she stepped into Tamil Nadu for the first time few months back for the shooting with actor Dhanush for the Aadukalam movie! “My first shooting spot was in Madurai. It was a completely new place and I was afraid to be with completely new people. But actor Dhanush stood my me and soothed me” she revealed.

She also revealed that she had a lot of problems communicating with the people there and then Dhanush gave her a book to learn the Tamil language in 30 days! “Daily I used to byheart the words and in just one month, i was able to speak and understand Tamil” she says.

The film was initially titled Aruva but the director changed it to Vengai. There are reports that it may go in for another name change owing to some problems in procuring the title which has already been registered by another filmmaker.

Uthamaputhiran Movie Faces Coimbatore Protests

‘Uthamaputhiran’, the film which was having a spectacular run at the box office seems to have run into a spate of trouble lately. The film starring the young pair of Dhanush and Genelia seems to have enraged the residents of Coimbatore.

A number of protests have been staged against showing the film which the groups claim include a few scenes that are objectionable to them. The protesters belong to a particular caste based group and are not happy with some of the scenes which project them in a bad light. They were speaking on behalf of a particular community which claims to have been at the receiving end in ‘Uthamaputhiran’.

The director, Mithran R Jawahar when contacted by the media admitted that the particular community had received a mention in his film. The film is a complete entertainer suitable for the entire family and as such does not cast aspersions on any caste or creed belonging to the nation, was his explanation. They are absolutely no scenes included in the entire film that can be called as objectionable or hurtful in any way whatsoever, he concluded. The director also stated that the producer of ‘Uthamaputhiran’ is in Coimbatore at the moment trying to sort out the problem.

Story : Uthama Puthiran film centers on a happy-go-lucky youngster (Dhanush) hailing from a rich family and is well pampered by his family members. When the family elders arrange marriage for their daughter (played by Thamanah in original version), he helps her get married with her boyfriend.

This galls his parents, who push him out of their sight. Meanwhile, the protagonist tends to kidnap a beautiful girl (Genelia D’Souza) as a mistaken identity, with whom he had fell in love at first sight and couldn’t know her whereabouts. Meanwhile, it’s revealed that the girl herself wasn’t interested in this marriage and wanted fly for USA to escape from the clutches of her deadly uncles.

Now, it’s up to the guy to save his belle from the speculative situation and win her heart.
