While Genelia has acted with Vijay earlier, it's for the first time Hansika Motwani is acting in a Vijay film. Velayudham is the remake of the Telugu superhit movie 'Aazad'. The music of this movie is by Vijay Antony and Cinematography by Priyan. Saranya Mohan, Santhanam and Sathyan will be appearing in important roles in this movie.
