Dana Elaine Owens (aka Queen Latifah) was born on March 18, 1970 in Newark, New Jersey, USA. She is an American rapper, singer and actress. Latifah's work in music and film has earned her a Grammy Award, five additional Grammy nominations, and an Academy Award nomination as well.

On July 11th, 2007, Latifah made her singing debut at the famed Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles as the headliner act in a live jazz concert.
